This week 4 years ago, Frankfurt, West Germany born and North Carolina raised, J. Cole who was discovered by Jay-Z released this official mixtape titled “Any Given Sunday”. With this release at the time, J. Cole stated he would give away some format of music weekly until his debut album dropped.
Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy, who gained success from music released through YouTube, released the mixtape titled “21”. This mixtape EP had 7-tracks from the Chicago born artist. That year he released 9 mixtapes as follows:

Gucci Mane and Future released this official mixtape titled “Free Bricks”. Featured on this mixtape was 2 Chainz, who was previously known as Tity Boy from the rap duo Playaz Circle. Production on this mixtape came from some of today’s well known producers such as Zaytoven, Drumma Boy, Mike Will, and a few others.
Yo Gotti released the 6th edition of the Cocaine Muzik mixtape series. This release was 20-tracks from the Tennessee rap artist and hosted by DJ Drama. Appearances with the Epic Records artist included Young Jeezy, Starlito, Zed Zilla, and Sylver Karatz. Production came from Drumma Drama, Lex Luger, Beatz R Us, DJ Montay, Kane, and Lil Lody.
